Frequent whip action wreaked havoc on traders nerves as they struggled during the afternoon session, to cash in on some chips. The morning session faired rather well, however. Traders were relieved to lay the week to rest at the closing bell.

Today was a strong trading day, making it the biggest one-day gain since March. With earnings strong and a positive forecast for the economy from Intel Corp, investors dove into the markets pushing major stock indicators up by nearly 3%. Dow Jones industrial average had it's biggest one-day gain since March rising 257 points, Nasdaq rose 63 points and the Standards and Poor's 500 index rose 26 points.
